CRIME ALERT- Public Notification

CrimeALERT: On 03/19/2022 at 4:42 a.m. the Cornell University 911 Center received an activated fire alarm from residential dormitory, Ganędagǫ Hall, 121 Triphammer Road, Ithaca, NY. Cornell Police, Cornell Environmental Health & Safety and the City of Ithaca Fire Department responded to the scene and discovered a trash collection room located on the 3rd floor was damaged by fire. The fire suppression system contained the fire damage to that room. Water damage from the sprinkler system caused damage to adjacent rooms. At this time this incident is under investigation by the Cornell University Police and the City of Ithaca Fire Department. No suspect(s) have been identified at this time. The Cornell University Police continue to investigate. Anyone with information related to this crime is asked to contact the Cornell University Police Department at (607) 255-1111. Cornell University Police urge the community to protect themselves in the event of a fire by alerting those around you of the fire, then to evacuate the building, close room doors as you leave, activate the fire alarm, and move away from the building once you exit. Immediately report any suspected criminal activity by dialing 911 or utilizing the RAVE Guardian app.
