CRIME ALERT- Public Notification

CrimeALERT: On December 30, 2021 at about 10:14 p.m., Cornell Police were conducting a property check of a Cornell owned residence and found a broken window. Upon further investigation it was determined the residence had been entered. Then, on January 4, 2022, at approximately 12:40 a.m., Cornell University Police responded to a report of a broken window at a Cornell owned residence in the 100 block of Triphammer Road. Upon arrival, officers located a broken basement window. Further investigation revealed the suspect(s) may have entered through the broken window and damaged property inside. Both residences were unoccupied at the time of the incidents. It is unknown if these two crimes are related. There are no suspects and no clear motivating factors leading up to the suspects actions. The Cornell University Police continue to investigate. Anyone with information related to these crimes is asked to contact the Cornell University Police Department at (607) 255-1111. Cornell University Police urge the community to take steps to protect their property by locking and closing unattended doors and windows and to immediately report any suspected criminal activity by dialing 911 or utilizing the RAVE Guardian app.
