CRIME ALERT- Public Notification

Crime ALERT: Crime Alert - Robbery - 140 Thurston Ave. - August 28, 2021 At 2:45 a.m. the Ithaca Police Department and Bangs Ambulance responded to 140 Thurston Avenue for a reported robbery. A male victim reported that an unknown male party guest had stolen his wallet and a plate of cookies off a table in the residence. When the victim attempted to retrieve his property back from the unknown guest, 2 other unknown male guests began punching him in the head. The 3 unknown males then fled the residence with the victim’s property. The victim was subsequently transported to Cayuga Medical Center by Bangs ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing and no further information is being disseminated at this time. Cornell University Police urge the community to take steps to protect themselves by walking in groups or using the RAVE Guardian Virtual Escort and by immediately reporting any suspected criminal activity they see by dialing 911 or utilizing the RAVE Guardian app.
