Domestic Violence Awareness Month – Show support for victims of domestic violence by ‘Going Purple’ on Thursday, Oct. 22. Local calls to domestic violence hotlines in Tompkins County have increased by 50% since the COVID-19 pandemic began in March. If you or someone you know is a victim of intimate partner violence, know that help is available.

Off-campus Crime – For those who travel off campus, please be aware of the recent armed robbery that occurred on North Tioga Street in the City of Ithaca. Stay safe by being alert to your surroundings and by walking in groups and in well-lit areas. If someone tries to rob you, don’t resist. Once you can get to a safe place, call 911 – your actions can protect yourself and help prevent others from becoming victims.

Construction SafetyAs President Pollack announced, two of the under-construction North Campus Residential Expansion halls will be named for two esteemed alumnae – U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg ’54 and Nobel Prize-winning author Toni Morrison, M.A. ’55. While we await the opening, please stay out of on-campus construction sites. They are dangerous and off limits until officially opened to the public. Officers will be citing any unauthorized persons located within construction areas.
