CRIME ALERT- Public Notification

CrimeALERT: The Cornell University Police Department is investigating an incendiary fire that occurred in a dumpster outside of Comstock Hall, 129 Garden Avenue at approximately 3:18 a.m. on April 11, 2021. The Cornell Police, Ithaca Fire Department and Cornell Environmental Health and Safety responded to a report of a fire in the dumpster outside of Comstock Hall. An investigation to determine the cause of the fire was initiated by the Cornell Police, Ithaca Fire Department and New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control Investigators. Earlier today, these entities released an initial report that indicated the fire was intentionally started. The investigation to identify who started the fire is ongoing.
