Attempted Burglary – 300 Block Oak Ave.
On Sunday, September 13, 2020, at approximately 12:50 a.m., the Ithaca Police Department and Cornell University Police Department responded to a residence in the 300 block of Oak Ave., City of Ithaca, for a report of an attempted burglary.
The complainant reported seeing an unknown male peering into their window. The complainant stated that when they screamed, the suspect left the window but remained in the yard. The suspect returned to the house and banged on the door before fleeing in an unknown direction. The suspect appeared to have damaged a window screen in a possible attempt to gain entry.
The complainant described the suspect as a white male in his 50's, with white hair, wearing a black zip-up sweatshirt, black baseball cap, and glasses.

If the suspect is seen, call 911 immediately, do not approach. Cornell University Police urge the community to take steps to protect their property by locking and closing unattended doors and windows and to immediately report any suspected criminal activity they see by dialing 911 or utilizing the RAVE Guardian app.
