Construction Obstruction – Slow down and be alert when navigating construction zones. Ease frustration by planning ahead and, if possible, avoid areas with active roadwork. Stay informed about disruptions on campus by monitoring the special conditions website or sign up to receive email alerts. Information about other local roadway construction projects can be found on the city, county and state webpages.
Bicycle Safety – Biking is a great way to stay fit and reduce traffic, but be sure to let motorists know you are there — day or night. Visibility in bright sunlight is trickier than one might think. To maximize your visibility, wear day-glow clothing colors and keep your bike lit up. Always bike carefully and follow the rules of the road. Motorists can also review tips for sharing the road safely.
Lock It Up – We’ve dealt with some stolen bikes this summer. Please be sure to lock your bike when you aren’t using it. If you’ve left your bike parked at one of the racks and you haven’t used it for a week or two, please take it home (and lock it there, too).
