Paintball gun harassment on campus week prior to 9/10/2014

The Cornell University Police Department is investigating a pattern of harassment of students with projectiles from a paintball gun. Over the past week Cornell Police have received several reports of students being targeted with a paintball gun discharged from a moving vehicle. In all cases, students reported seeing a black or dark-colored sedan drive by them as they were struck by a paintball. There is no further description of the vehicle or any of its occupants. These incidents occurred at different locations on Sept. 4 and Sept. 9 between 5:45 p.m. and 11 p.m. This behavior is intolerable on campus or off. Cornell Police remind everyone that any sort of weapon that fires a projectile is illegal on campus under New York State Law. These investigations are continuing and we strongly encourage anyone who has been a victim of this harassment or has information about these incidents to contact the Cornell University Police at 607-255-1111.
