Blue Light Services:

Cornell's pioneering Blue Light Program promotes and safeguards personal security and well being on the Cornell campus, particularly at night.

Blue Light Phones: There are 86 Blue Light phones and 275 indoor emergency phones on campus. For direct connection to Cornell Police, lift the receiver or press the button. Use the phones when you are lost, having car problems, want to report a suspicious incident or a medical emergency, or for any other kind of assistance or information. As soon as the connection is activated, the location of the phone is displayed on the Cornell Police switchboard. If a caller doesn't or can't speak, an officer is immediately dispatched to the phone site.
Note: if you're calling to report an emergency on a phone at the entrance to a residence hall, push the "on" button, then press 911.

Blue Light Escorts: A pair of escorts, hired and trained by Cornell Police, will accompany any member of the Cornell community or visitor to destinations on or close to campus. They'll wait with you at a bus stop until the bus arrives. Each escort wears a blue polo shirt or jacket displaying "Cornell Police Auxiliary," carries a Cornell Police picture ID and is in direct radio contact with Cornell Police.

To request an escort team, call 255-7373 or use one of the Blue Light phones on campus. The service operates from 8 p.m. through 2 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and 8 p.m. through 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday while classes are in session.

Blue Light Buses: Show a Cornell ID and ride free! TCAT Blue Light Buses (routes 92 and 93) operate on campus daily from 6:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. throughout the academic year, except during the week between Christmas and New Year's. Anyone can ride when they use a CU photo ID at the farebox. Blue Light bus schedules can be picked up at Commuter and Parking Services at 116 Maple Avenue, Cornell Police headquarters in Barton Hall, TCAT 737 Willow Ave., the Cornell Information and Visitor Relations Center in Day Hall, the information desk in Willard Straight Hall, or on a Blue Light bus.
