Strong-Arm Robbery on the 700 block of University Ave

At 12:45 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, Cornell Police took a report from a student of a strong arm robbery that occurred at approximately 5:50 p.m. on Thursday Nov. 24, 2011. The student reported that she was waiting for a ride near a bus stop on the 700 block of University Avenue when the occupants of a light colored van pulled up to ask directions. As the victim was attempting to obtain directions for the occupants of the van, one of the passengers got out and knocked the victim to the ground and stole the victim's handbag. The van then left the area in an unknown direction. The occupants of the van at the time of the incident were described as being two white females and one black female. The age of the females was described as being late teens or early twenties.

Call 911 in emergencies on and off campus. Report any suspicious activity on campus to the Cornell University Police by calling 255-1111. All suspicious activity off campus should be reported to the Ithaca City Police Department at 272-3245.
