The Ithaca City Police Department is investigating a reported assault that occurred on Thursday Aug. 18, 2011, between 1:15 and 1:30 a.m. in the area of 512 University Ave.
The victim reported that he was in the area of 512 University Ave. when he was punched on the left side of his face by an unknown assailant who then fled the scene. Police describe the alleged assailant as a white male, approximately 20 years old, wearing a dark orange plaid shirt.
The police investigation is continuing. Anyone with information should contact the Ithaca Police Department at (607) 272-9973.
