Assault - West Ave. Sunday June 5, 2011
Cornell University Police are investigating a reported assault that occurred on the sidewalk along West Avenue in the area of Mennen Hall at about 6:07 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2011.
The complainant stated that he was riding his bicycle along College Avenue near the intersection with Campus Road when he was approached by some subjects in a vehicle, who engaged in a verbal altercation with him. He then rode his bicycle down Campus Road and onto West Avenue, where he observed the vehicle still following him and dismounted in the area of Mennen Hall. The vehicle then stopped and a male passenger got out of the vehicle, approached the complainant and assaulted him. The complainant describes the perpetrator as a white male, wearing yellow basketball-style shorts and no shirt. The perpetrator then fled northbound on West Avenue in a silver or white sedan with white New York license plates. The vehicle was being operated by a white female driver wearing a black dress and sunglasses. The complainant has been transported to Cayuga Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
