UPDATE: Strong-Armed Robbery Hughes Hall Pathway, May 20, 2011

Cornell University Police have closed the investigation into the alleged strong-armed robbery on the Hughes Hall pathway that was reported early in the morning on Friday, May 20, 2011.

After investigating the report, Cornell police determined that the incident did not happen. A Cornell student has been arrested for Falsely Reporting an Incident in the Third Degree and referred to the City of Ithaca Court. He also was referred to the Cornell Judicial Administrator for violating Section 2E of the Campus Code of Conduct: Furnishing false information to the University with the intent to deceive.

Cornell police continue to investigate the robbery that was reported to them on Thursday, May 19, 2011, that was alleged to have occurred near this location sometime in February. Anyone with information related to either incident should contact Cornell University Police at (607) 255-1111.
